Academics

studentin_biblioThe Transnational Legal Studies Program offers a curriculum of advanced level courses where the language of instruction, the materials, and the examination are in English. The Course Description section contains courses that are routinely offered as part of the program, including information on when these courses are offered and any new courses that are added to the program.

Apart from the above mentioned courses, we teach introductory courses in legal English and Anglo-American legal thinking that are tailored for advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students from Switzerland and other non-English speaking countries. Finally, many courses regularly offered as part of the core curriculum for law students both at the Bachelors and Masters levels in German have transnational topics and are suitable for those visiting students who have a basic command of written and spoken German. In some cases, the majority or at least a significant part of the course materials will be in English. Please check the university website for more information on these courses.

Exchange students are also welcome to participate in our various moot court teams (subject to approval by faculty members supervising these teams) and can arrange for individual research or teaching placements from our faculty. Please click the link for Moots/Practical Credits for more information.
