Generally, finding housing in Lucerne can be a bit tricky and expensive. However, the university can make some arrangements for incoming students provided they inform our offices of their need well ahead of time. In the past we have housed students in rented student housing in Emmenbrücke (another city in the canton of Lucerne - only a 10 minute bus ride to the University). These apartments are single units with shared kitchen and bathrooms. They are usually offered at reasonable rates but due to high demand from both University of Lucerne incomings and the other faculties of the University, we cannot guarantee availibility. Please let our office know as soon as you have received confirmation of your enrollment and we will do our best to find reasonable housing.

- St. Beat is a seminary located only a few minutes' walk from the University. They offer single units with breakfast included for around 800 CHF per month. If you would like to rent a room from the seminary, please look at their website (in German) and use the contact numbers.
- The student housing association "Verein für Studentisches Wohnen Luzern" (StuWo Luzern) offers help in the search for private accommodation such as apartments, lodging in a private home or a room in a shared flat.

The Transnational Legal Studies website offers a free message board for incoming and outgoing students to post their short term rentals. This is an opportunity for students coming into one city to connect with students who are leaving that city (either to come to Lucerne or go elsewhere from Lucerne).
